Something being a conventional narrative doesn't make it not a narrative. And other than the cow episode, I think most of the early-season 1 ones work a lot better if you go back to them now, with the characterizations established.

I wouldn't call Megan Mullally "cult," exactly, although I guess she's not really an A-lister either. She's definitely well-known enough to pull people in though.

Well, I didn't say UGA was gonna win for any sane reason, more as a commitment to being the AntiLeibniz. Worst of all possible worlds, y'know.

I watched all of the first season of American Horror Story! It's pretty bugnuts, but I can't say I wasn't a little disappointed. I suspect that watching it in real time, so to speak, is half the fun: you really have no idea what kind of thing it'll do next. So I can't really recommend it as a camp artifact to anyone…

I totally didn't realize the captain was Tambor until the closing credits. Although then I went back and watched it again, and yeah, I can hear it.

Rowan is, I think, overcommitted to this narrative of the show finding its voice midway through the first season. Which, you know, he's still a pretty good reviewer, so I'm happy to forgive that weird quirk.

A good comedy would cut away to Linda's fantasy, then Tina's, then Louise's.

I'm pretty sure dictionaries have had introductions for a long time. At least, I'm like 95% sure that Webster's Third New International had one.

I should clarify that I don't dislike watching college football. I hate how shitty I feel about myself for liking college football.
