To be fair, the whole trilogy is Bruce's arc, and his development (much of the credit going to Bale) is far from shit.

Nope, ambition and what the film evokes can go a lot further for me, TDK is tighter, but TDKR sets out to accomplish so much more & does for the most part (for similar reasons Gangs of New York is my favorite Scorsese movie, despite its imperfections). I disagree, Brosnan was Bond when I was younger, but Craig usurped the role forever in my mind a few minutes into Casino Royale.

I'm torn, it's already ridiculous that it was going to be a two parter, but if it can give a sense of the history and build-up to the reemergence of Sauron in Lord of the Rings that his trilogy was completely missing I might be OK with it.
