Regardless of the interviewer, Peters was still absolutely fascinating.

Truth. I was wondering what possessed him to ask that, unless he'd never seen any of Spike's other movies. Particularly 25th Hour, damn I almost fell out of my seat when the opening credits kicked on because the score was so loud in comparison to the dialog in the first scene.

Screw not mentioning The Wire, that was one of the best discussions on the motivation to be an artist I've ever read. I've always liked him a lot as an actor, but this makes me dig him as a person so much more. Great stuff Clarke.

That & he's the lead playing a stand-in for the director himself, so it'd be a bit weird for him to be cut.

There is no studio, this was an independently financed venture. I'm assuming the actors weren't highly paid simply for the chance to work with Malick.

She said in an interview over a year ago that she basically asked to take part in the film & shot only for one day & didn't think there was much of a chance the role would end up in the film.

It's nothing new, Adrien Brody went from shooting the lead role in The Thin Red Line to having little more than a glorified cameo.

That's "Untitled Terrence Malick Project" to you now, thanks to the fucking Weinstein Company thinking Lawless was a better title than "The Wettest County in the World", John Hillcoat's movie that's out today. (That actually does have Jessica Chastain in it coincidentally)

Everyone must be an exaggeration as Christian Bale is now shooting two more movies with him. Oh & his director of photography on The New World continues with him on all his projects.
