Where's Harry Truman?
Ooh, is this where we're leaving our shameful admissions about not loving something that everyone else here does?
He wasn't missing tackles all those times, he was just hugging his girl.
Yes, and her obvious glee is what turns that from a funny scene into a hysterically funny scene.
It's then followed by possibly my favorite scene b/w Darlene and Dan when Darlene goes to bail Dan out of jail.
"He uses that bathroom because it's the only one with a lock on it, and he's in there for, like, an hour at a time. Which means he's either really, really good at it, or… Really, really bad at it."
ALL THE LIKES.
How well did Living Single do? It seemed that plenty of people outside the African-American audience liked that show (myself included), and I feel like it must have been more popular than a Meet the Browns-type of program that thrives today.
That Anna/Vera's friend scene was so Law and Ordery, I was half-expecting a CHUNG! CHUNG! at the end of it.
I was trying to be helpful…
Thanks!
I still prefer Wreck-It Ralph, but ParaNorman was the most welcome surprise of the year. Not only for the openly gay character (which was awesome), but really for the insanely clever little asides, like the smug couple in the restaurant making cooing noises at each other, and are never seen again.
@avclub-3bca94e353e508c1a49bf984fc5c346d:disqus Especially for her performance in Lincoln, which may as well be called "Forrest Gump's Mom with a Hoop Skirt".
Man, if you look up "overrated" in the dictionary…
"That wasn't even your voice! It was dubbed!"
Saw it coming.
I know @Scrawler2:disqus brought this up already, but it bears repeating: What in the actual fuck was the AV Club thinking in choosing that picture to head up this article?
That was a good one, but my personal favorite line of the episode was Cora desperately trying to smooth over a hideously awkward situation by comparing Irish gardens to English ones.
She's the lurker downstairs. Edith has got the rest of the house covered.
