There was a CYOA-style book I read in junior high that takes place at a remote ski cabin, and as you progress, you start discovering the murdered bodies of the other guests.  It's been haunting me ever since, but I haven't been able to track it down.  I don't suppose anyone here knows what it's called?

We scientists have not been busting our humps to develop the technology to make consuming pop culture at home such an enjoyable, convenient experience just so you people could resolve to get out of the house more.

But she wears high heels when she exercises.  SHE'S QUIRKY, DAMN IT.  DON'T YOU LOVE HER???????

My first two of 2013 will be My Life in France (Julia Child) and Silver Sparrow (Tayari Jones), because I like to wildly jump between genres every time I start a new book.

I'm surprised Freedom is so popular, and feel like I must be missing something.  I agree that the beginning was very strong, but the back two-thirds of it seemed to me like self-entitled whining from affluent white people.

No tackling will be allowed in the game, lest that man-to-man contact stir any lustful feelings.

@Scrawler2:disqus -  Have you already used the "sweaty boot rash" dodge?

"Go for it, Stephanie!"

"Go for it, Stephanie!"

Agreed.  I was with most of Tasha's review until she gets to the praise for Redmayne, though I still can't decide if my problems with Marius are more his fault or the source material.

I finished Tom Perotta's The Leftovers, which seems appropriate, given the Apocalypse That Wasn't.  It did some interesting things with the idea of what people would be like after a not-necessarily-religion-based Rapture, but seemed ultimately a bit shallow to me.  I'm now in one of those rare periods that I don't

Plus, she can fly.

Plus, she can fly.

Thanks!  You've spared me the embarrassment of an email along the lines of "Um… I know this isn't the most pressing problem in the world, but…"

Hey, since this is kind of a meta thread anyway, I've got a question.  For the past couple of days, clicking on the "likes" link doesn't lead anywhere anymore.  Is this an issue with my account, or are you guys also unable to open the "Likes' window?
