Thanks for posting this. The comments got so bogged down in nastiness I almost forgot what I scrolled down here to do: comment on the episode. This one was so fun, it was almost worth the 3 episode slow chug to the top of the roller coaster. I was sitting on the couch with my arms up over my head, shouting…
Not until he's dead, really. Just until he learns that it's okay for some one to have an opinion that differs from his. As scotteb said: Grow up, people!
I spent several seconds trying to figure out when/how Andy Rooney went into management.
My ability to tolerate TV shows about rich jackasses goes up and down with the economy. I hope the recession kills that show.
Godric is Eric's "maker"?
I don't remember this from the books. Did I just forget or is this a new TV twist? Either way, I like it.
I feel like a few things did move this week, but I did groan when they threw in Lorena (Bill's maker) at the end. Make that 6 billion and 1 plot threads!
How many True Blood-watching gun experts are also AV Club readers?
Are you including "The Glass Castle" here? I enjoyed that book. I think a miserable dirt holler West Virginia childhood might rival the more widely appreciated miserable Irish childhood.
That's the only song I can remember dancing to at the Prom. There were others, of course, just not that memorable this many years later.
We marched in to Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" instead.
Our musicians played a piece from Nino Rota's Romeo and Juliet score (the 1969 Zeffirelli version) during the service and the recessional was Mouret's Rondeau (better known as the theme from PBS' Masterpiece Theater).
Hey Clarence Carter! My husband always requests "Strokin" at wedding receptions. Most of the time the DJ plays it and most of the time it clears the dance floor real quick. Then it's just the two of us out there dancing to it. His sister recently got married and she specifically banned the song.
@Floyd, r.e. "stands alone as a film"
I made it to 1:02.
As soon as action shifted to the hotel in Dallas, I was looking for Barry. So happy to see him.
TomWaits is right. There will be many great moments if you are already emotionally invested in the characters, but the larger season plot is beyond ridiculous.
Buffy burned down her first high school, right? I wonder if Whedon et al decided Buffy should blow up the high school at graduation and worked backward from there. Too bad about the Columbine gap between episodes.
I have a bike.
I certainly agree. I was refering more to our aspirations than to our actual success.
