I can only refer to Australian media which is mostly a combination of American, British and locally made so I don't know much about Canadian satire. But here there is less comedy and satire made in the country and is ironically mostly made by the government funded channels. So it could be that American satire is

I wouldn't say they're great but highlights from other episodes. This may be unpopular but I think "Day of the Jackanapes" is better than "Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming".

I've often wondered why non-American political satire is most often not as funny as American even though not being not familiar with what they are satirising and I think it has something to do with most American politicians being such larger than life personalities, where other than a few exceptions in places like

It seemed like America rarely parodied Reagan in his tenure, but in other countries like Britain with Spitting Image etc and Australian with Fast Forward etc didn't have any problem with portraying him as a senile idiot.

I find the Christmas episode goes too long. I like some of the suggestions he has in the commentary like having a CGI shot of an endless row women's underwear but they didn't have the budget.

Me too, the show gets my pussy so wound up I have to stroke it for the rest of the evening.

Have you thought that the joke could be that it makes no sense?

Linehan has said that Seinfeld is a big influence on him and he likes to use the model to write episodes. He says that one of his regrets about Father Ted was he didn't have enough episodes that had all the characters with a storyline. Though I really like Father Ted the way it is I wouldn't of minded more episodes

Isn't that a standard joke though? When making a mock-musical take one keyword of an unlikely to be adapted piece of art, add an exclamation point to the end and then have the subtitle 'The Musical". The next most common thing is add "On Ice".

It's also funny because Moss is usually useless at making friends or anything social.

Why have you never been to the theatre?

Up until that point he had the dullest of mediocre tastes.

An ill wind is blowing. Last night I was stirred from my slumber by a crow calling three times. Caw… caw… well you know what a crow sounds like. Passing to my window, I trod on a piece of lego. Oh, it went right in the heel. Turning on my television set, I noticed the reception wasn't great. Not terrible, just not

I thought I could make it work between us coz you looked a bit like a man!

I love willies!!!!

And wordplay and wacky situations is what Blackadder is all about, less  so in TTBL.

FAAAAAAAAATHERRRRRRR

"I haven't been this excited since they brought in the American style sirens"

"We disregard herrings. Red or other wise."
