I loved this finale, in large part due to the masterful twist, but I also have to say that buried under the fact that they're basically in hell is a pretty optimistic vision of these 4 aggressively mediocre people. Indecisive Chidi risks what he believes is an eternity in paradise on Eleanor's ability to improve

The degree to which Michael was in trouble due to their escape and ultimate discovery of the plan implies that the Medium Place is legit, at least to me.

Well Sean tells Michael the whole situation with them running away is a big issue and that any further screw ups will land him in real trouble. So at the very least it seems unlikely they'll end up looping again.

My sister watched this movie eleventy-billion times, by my count as an 11 year old. I remember being very confused about why you would dive into anything with a horse.

So, I'm assuming this means nobody on the AVClub has read The Sign of Four?

I feel like Bryce Dallas Howard should cameo as one of Rory's former flames.

Well the list is hardly exhaustive, it doesn't include "Poisocaine" from Archer, though I suppose there may be a list of doubly fictional poisons that I'm not aware of.

I'm more than slightly appalled that no one even mentioned High Noon in their responses.

I generally choose to believe that there is no second season of Human Target, because I genuinely really enjoyed the first one. It was a rather perfect role for Mark Valley, and the music was fantastic. Love that opening theme.

Ah, misinterpreted that as you saying that it should have been cancelled earlier due to creative issues, rather than business ones.

Okay, slow your roll on Fringe there, eh?

Uh, what?
An entire entry on not re-adapting Sherlock Holmes, and not one mention of the most compelling reason that people should stop bothering to try it?

I don't know why I read this, but it left me thinking two things:

Word. That is an authentic sentiment, dawg.

Nothing good can come of this
Seriously.

Forgot about the kids, good catch.

Well, the show is fairly screwed up. Definitely avoid watching a whole season almost non-stop over a few days like I did, shit'll mess you up.

More importantly, where the hell was William H. Macy to begin with? What makes you hire Jeremy Piven when Mace (I like to call him Mace, it's cool) is available? I'm not exactly up on my Broadway regulars, but I gotta believe that either of these two gentlemen are better actors, and better human beings, than Jeremy
