Honestly not a bad movie…
I understand it not being everyone's cup of tea, but I thought there would be some people out there who thought this was a halfway decent flick (at least not deserving of that Cinemascore rating). Kelly is one of the most wildly ambitious directors working today, and even if his films leave

I got the Commissioner breathin' down my neck. I need results, god damn it, and I need 'em NOW!!!

I'll watch Tony Scott movies again when he can maintain a shot on screen for longer than half a second. If Man on Fire was made by a director who didn't have ADD it would have been much more engaging, and don't get me started on fucking Domino…

So we're questioning legitimate police procedure in a Michael Bay movie???
Well since we're doing it… I'll add that Joe Pantoliano's two word explanation of how he roped in a highly skilled team of covert op's to agree to an illegal invasion of Cuba ("Don't ask!") was the funniest part of that whole film.
Well, that

Oh fuck Stummies!!

Any trailer that poses a question can fuck right off
What would you do…
… if the perfect man…
… was right in front of you?

Some of the films Sam Rockwell has been in have been average, but even if they are he's usually THE BEST THING IN THEM, and a few of his films are genuine fucking classics. Sam Adams, your credibility has taken a direct hit.

Nepotism…
Breck Eisner's first film had a budget of $130 million, and I'm certain the short films he made in college were good enough to justify that…

The Dawn remake was the best horror remake since Cronenberg's The Fly. The lead characters had some shred of dimension to them, the relationship between Ving Rhames and the guy in the opposite building was genuinely believable, but most importantly it delivered frequent, serious zombie carnage. Way better than the

Yeah me too. Thought it was the one of the best horror films of the decade actually.

There have only been so many movies made in the past twenty years that could feasibly be referred to as "cult", so I guess the AV Club had to slow the column down eventually. I have to agree with you though, Dr. Manhattan, it doesn't seem like two years!

On paper, Stealing Harvard should have been hilarious. In reality it's an unfunny mess, even if you are stoned…

Let us not forget Nicole Kidman, the 23 year old brain surgeon in Days of Thunder.

The eighties style glasses he wore in Watchmen had such a Clark W. Griswald aura around them I was expecting Rorshach to take off his madk and be Cousin Eddie.

The films of Peter Berg suck ass…
… with the exception of The Rundown.
Of the others I can't pick which one I hate more, Hancock for it's ill conceived tonal shifts, Very Bad Things for trying so hard to be shocking without being funny or engaging, or The Kingdom for starring that grand douche amongst douches, Jamie

The core themes of The Hurt Locker were psychological, not political. And in no way were the characters put on a pedestal as heroes. In fact it showed how they eventually lose their connection with the rest of humanity based on the job they have to carry out. If anything, they're to be pitied…

Them Dirty Harry films…
First one's the best, third one's the worst, fourth one's so outrageously violent it's almost comedic, fifth one is average but the car chase is awesome, and the second's got Soul.
But my favorite is still Gran Torino…

I can't think of many franchises that have recovered from drops in quality. I suppose the James Bond films, but they have the benefit of not having direct continuity…

Fuck 3-D. Where's the investment to perfect Odor-ama? If John Waters was as technically savvy as James Cameron, fart jokes could finally break through to the next level.

If that is true then then there is some kind of lurking genius bubbling underneath such F-graded films as An American Carol, I Hate Valentines Day (a film they should have released the same time as this if only for the irony), and Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.
I really doubt this is the case.
