Harris was fucking hilarious in that film, you gotta love his Russian accented acoustic cover of "You Light Up My Life". I never in a million years clicked he was Lane Pryce in Mad Men though. The man is something of a chameleon…

Serenity
But no Firefly?

Outlaw Vern's review of Transformers 2
His admission that he'd prefer to watch TF2 over TF1 because, just as he'd watch Batman and Robin over Batman Forever, watching a spectacularly bad movie is much more fun than watching simply bad movie. This point may result in me watching TF2 at some point down the track…

Yes, Armageddon is fucking awful. I'd also posit that it's Michael Bay's best movie, at least to those of us that hate The Rock and can't understand the free pass it receives from most people.

Why does Michael Bay get to keep making movies? Um, because all of his films gross a fortune???

Tastes like a pussy soaked in apple juice.

I forgot Billy Zane headlined a big budget comic book movie
Man that Phantom movie pissed me off. There was more than enough potential to make a great adventure film with that character, but instead they went with the usual "hero goes searching for macguffin before villain can use it to conquer the world" bullshit.

Buzzsaw had to split…
Well, his balls did anyway.

Actually I'd rate it as up there with their best. I can't imagine someone who loves Barton Fink not feeling the same way about A Serious Man…

Could De Palma qualify for the most inconsistent director in Hollywood? The guy has made some absolute classics but, you know, Mission to Mars and The Black Dahlia.
I will defend Raising Cain, however, to my dying days…

Stuff N Fluff, I call bullshit on that. A good deal of time in Leon was devoted to building the relationship between Leon and Mathilda, so when everything turns to shit in the final act you're invested enough to actually care what happens to them. Characterization does not exist in the movies Besson cranks out now,

Dear Luc Besson
Remember when you directed action films that weren't complete junk? Leon? La femme Nikita?

The Liam Neeson character was just completely unbelievable in Taken. Seriously did anyone else find his constant preoccupation with his daughter (and I'm talking in the scenes before she's actually kidnapped) kind of creepy? I know the filmmakers had to establish he was a loving father but it came off like he cut

The most underrated Alec Baldwin movie…
Miami Blues. That movie fucking rocks.

It would be no stretch of the imagination to imagine the spoiled 11 year old child of two Hollywood stars behaving like a pig…

Oliver Stone
His recent films haven't been bad, just rather toothless. I'm hopeful Wall Street 2 is a return to form, but I'd love to see him make another psychedelic head fuck ala Natural Born Killers or U-Turn (U-Turn being a severely under appreciated film).

I think the alarm bells should have gone off re. The Lovely Bones when Ryan Gosling was replaced by Mark Wahlberg. Even though I haven't seen it yet, I'm genuinely surprised and disappointed to hear Jackson dropped the ball so badly with this one, as I've really enjoyed every film he's made this far, including King

Nihilistic? Perhaps. Mean spirited? Maybe. Fun? Fuck, yes.
I wonder what Tasha thinks of the Evil Dead films? The tone of DMtH is very much in line with those films, though Ash endured far more horrors than Alison Lohman's character did…

Agreed. Burton seems to have been on auto pilot since 1994. Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd were decent but lacked the heart that made his earlier films special.
Willy Wonka and Planet of the Apes, on the other hand, were nothing more than soulless turds.

"I DON'T NEED THE GIRL!!!"
