Wait a minute, the stampeding animals were pigs? I thought those were aurochs!

Love the AV CLub to death and find myself agreeing with the reviewers on movies, comedy, books… but when it comes to music, I find that there is big blind spot: electronic music. Great article!
I'd add that his Jacques Brel covers are fantastic as well. From the heart-wrenching "If you go away" to the hilarious "The girls and the dogs", there's something for everyone in there (and a nice introduction to Jacques Brel's world if you are not blessed with speaking French).

"He may be guilty of angling toward a crowd-pleasing finish, but resistance is futile".
I did resist. I couldn't take it. To me it is a Lifetime movie, cheesy coincidences and trite situations, only with great acting. It was nice to see De Niro not sleepwalk through a performance and Jennifer Lawrence play the manic

Nice to see some love for Citizen Radio at last… It is essential listening for any lefty-Godless-maniac out there.

Pop culture highlight of the weekend: Ben Harper at the Hollywood Bowl. He was very present, almost on a spiritual level, and seemed genuinely happy to be on stage. Took us through an emotional roller coaster, starting with a "Another lonely day" (the irony wasn't lost on the audience) and ending with "Burn one down"
