Jupiter wasn't much of a surprise at all after the Creative Eclipses EP.   I feel like they released that to prepare people for the next LP

Great read, definitely captures exactly how I feel about a lot of the punk bands I grew up listening to as well.  And it's nice to finally see someone give Four Cornered Night the credit it's due.  So many people I know rank it way lower than Orange Rhyming Dictionary, and that's just silly to me

Dillinger Four song titles usually are perfectly appropriate for the lyrics.  They seem silly and unnecessary on the surface, but they almost always tie in with the theme of the song.  "Super Powers Enable Me To Blend In With Machinery" is about the drudgery of work and loss of individuality. "Shut Your Little Trap,

Live At the Olympia is definitely an incredible live record.  I love that they managed to release a 39 song live album containing some clearly unfinished songs and only one real "hit".  I gladly bought the vinyl/CD/DVD box set, but always wondered how many others did.

The last 4 songs totally make the album, and leave me with a brighter opinion of it than I maybe should have.

2 LPs for the vinyl edition.  At 55 min, it's too long no matter what the format

Around the Sun could've been an excellent EP.  Instead, we got a 2xLP.  But no matter how bad some of it gets, I really think one section ("Make it All Okay" through "Aftermath") sort of redeems its existence. Can't wait to read an entire entry about Fables.

I'm so glad you included a video for "Be Mine".  I think it's one of their most overlooked and beautiful songs.  The way it ties romance in with religion and folklore is perfect.

I guess you don't actually listen to punk rock?  "Punk/indie" is pretty insanely vaguel, and encompasses a whole slew of different styles of music.  But, you know, asinine snarky comments are cool too.

The recent trend of punk/indie nostalgia tours is my least favorite thing on Earth.

I can already tell I'm going to love this series.  I can also already tell it's going to basically tell the story of my life and obsession with this band.  Here's a preemptive "thanks" for writing it.

This record wins in every way.  The MellowHype songs are a bit of a letdown, but that's a very slight complaint.  It gets better with every listen

I just cannot get into this album.  Everything reminds me of something else, and it just sounds like they're trying so hard to make friends and cross over.  I miss the confrontation and noise.

Excellent episode.  The only bad parts involved Sleigh Bells who were, rightfully, not even mentioned in this review.
