First thing I thought of.

Anyone reading Satellite Sam? I think I might be done with it. I like Fraction, and I was a huge fan of Chaykin's 80s work (and some of his more recent stuff), so I really want to like it, but it just seems to be treading water and I am realizing I maybe don't give a shit where it goes from here.

No recaps of the two best sets I saw this weekend:  Public Enemy and Suicidal Tendencies.

Two words: parachute pants. They were my Parisian Nightsuit. I begged my mom to buy them for me at Merry-Go-Round. And they were extra cool because they had zippered legs such that they could be converted with a zip to parachute SHORTS.

I bought and read the whole series on Comixology in the past few days. So fucking good. One of the best comics I've ever read. My advice is not to read on public transportation unless you don't mind crying in public. That book did a fucking number on me quite a few times!

No. The Bomb Squad's magnum opus is Son of Bazerk featuring No Self Control and the Band.

I re-read the whole (up to that point) Morrison run a few months ago. I told my wife that it reminded me of Nabokov, I picked up so much new meaning on a second read. She still makes fun of me for that.

My wife and I went to see Shen Yun a few years ago. The ubiquitous ads when they come to town make it look like Cirque du Soleil.  In reality, the first half of the show was sort of amateurish dance, and the entire second half, following the intermission, was given over to amateurish propaganda about the Chinese

Betcha it was Coulson's Life Model Decoy that "died" in The Avengers.

Ebert has been a big influence on me over the years, I'm realizing.  I used to watch Siskel & Ebert anytime I came across it on TV (it was always on at odd times), and it was the first I was aware that there was something to be said about them, beyond just I liked it or not.  (I do remember being annoyed when they did

I opened and read it
It said they were suckers

I am happy to see Bob Mould on the list. I genuinely expected to see Silver Age all over year-end lists, and I have been surprised at how few times I've seen it. Probably another sign I'm getting out of touch. I'm 42, so Mould speaks to me more than, say, Frank Ocean does.

Yes, this. I have not been digging the violence in Beto's work for a while. I loved the Palomar stuff and I think Human Diastrophism aka Blood of Palomar might be the best graphic novel ever, though.

That's true, because Sting has become so lame that everything he ever did has become retroactively uncool.

I probably haven't seen that since it originally aired but whenever I hear or read about WKRP I still think, "boooooger!"
