He makes me LOVE dance, even when he's not that good at it.

Thanks for sharing this. I too loved this episode. I agree that some pieces worked better than others, but I thought it was a unique challenge. And (as I stated earlier) it ensured good choreography. I don't want to see this format every week, but I enjoyed it as a one-off.

I think that line is fed to her by producers. They want more votes regardless of who the votes are for, so they need her to guilt us into voting more.

Until next year. *knocking on wood that SYTYCD gets renewed*

wow thanks for sharing that link. I had been wondering about that last night… although I still feel like I have no idea exactly how much time couples get to rehearse with the choreographer versus on their own. So interesting to see behind the scenes footage!

I disagree, somewhat. The choreography this season has been so stale, that I was quite excited to get to see them dance some really high quality routines. I think that - for the dancers - this was rough because it put them in competition with the best dancers of the past rather than the other dancers of this season.

Not to mention that they didn't have nearly enough material for this episode so there was about 2-3 minutes of air time after everything was said and done, so we just had to sit there and watch these poor dancers console each other. Not that I am sad to see Amelia gone. I am not.

For me that was hands down the most uncomfortable moment of this episode if not the whole season. These poor dancers are being criticized live on national television, and now you're going to give them a QUIZ about the choreographer's family? That went too far.

As her look was coming down the runway, I turned to my husband and said, "no one would ever wear that." So, moments later, when Gunnar pointed out that Melissa in fact WOULD wear that look, I had no choice but to interpret it as an underhanded barb.

They should have at least given a Lexus to the designer who won the challenge.
