I'm a fan
I haven't watched P&R since probably the pilot or second episode, and I didn't like it. But I'd been reading here that it was a lot better this year, so I finally broke down and watched.

Once again
Jim tried to do something unusual with good intentions but failed, causing rancor in the office. Pam also was implicated.

I hate Requiem — it's a great film, but I cannot fucking watch it without wanting to vomit. Which is the point, but I wish I could stomach watching it again.

The "distraction" thing reminded me of "Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom" from It's Always Sunny, only it wasn't funny or well done.

My humble candidate
I am a little bit surprised that there hasn't been even a mention of Joaquin Phoenix in this thread (unless I missed one, which I don't think I did). I thought he was great in Gladiator, and pretty good in Walk the Line as well.

Sorry for the double post. Stupid work internet connection…

I don't agree that Ledger was just all right (honestly he should have been on this list. After Plainview and maybe Randy the Ram, the Joker was the most memorable performance for me that I've seen this decade). However, I fully agree that Eckhart was underrated in TDK. Though I would also like to see him get some dap

I don't think Ian McKellen played Gandalf. I think he actually is Gandalf. He fit that role perfectly. Actually, a lot of the acting in those movies got overlooked — Viggo Mortensen was pretty good, all things considered. Not good enough for this list, but good.

Tropic Thunder was good, though not really because of anything he did in it.

I totally agree on MVP 05. Possibly my favorite sports game ever (aside from maybe FIFA 08). And MLB 2Kfill-in-the-blank is like a kick to the crotch in comparison.

I think the difference is that Gore was saying it in a comedy sketch on a comedy program, while the loads of dumbasses actually meant what they were saying.

As a Mets fan, I can say I want to hang myself.

That hairless freak's coming here?

Really? I laughed my ass off at Recyclops.

I've never seen the movie, but I still loved the montage. Mainly because I love most montages.

I didn't even know Slate HAD comments.

Once again, horsefellow, God did not make the banana that you know today. Humanity did. Perhaps God made the banana in such a way that we could engineer it to be edible, but the wild banana is nothing like a Chiquita.

Christmas evolved.

That was way, way too long to read.
