I thought it had some good moments.  I laughed really hard when the dad grabbed a remote from the drawer, pressed it and the guys bed started to rise.  Loved it even more when he gleefully said, "Hey, looks like your dad found the missing bed remote!"

That's actually a pretty solid concept for a book.  Reminds me of Children of Men, sort of, but that's okay cause that was a pretty good concept as well.  Don't think I'll read it but if it becomes a movie I might check it out.

From all I read this is just going to be World War Z in name, just like iRobot.  I loved the book, lots of people loved the book, why not just go with what happened in the book?
