It was a perplexing choice.  I listen to podcasts at work during the week.  Friday is the perfect day to talk about it, because by Monday I've forgotten a lot of the specifics over the weekend.  I doubt I'm alone.

The episode was still pretty good, but I would have loved to hear June's inevitable defense or hidden meaning for that movie.

Eh, WNYX is more of a hobby than a business for Mr. James.

So the more accurate question would be: Why hasn't your position been cut due to district budget concerns?  Surely Sunnydale CSD's insurance and legal costs must be astronomical.

Wouldn't the Enterprise be out of range/regular contact with Starfleet command for most of the TOS?  That probably has a lot to do with it.

Except (Spoilers apparently?) Don does eventually get fired for everything you're talking about.  The fact that he became a partner before he fell off the deep end and became lousy at his job is why he held on as long as he did.

Rupert Giles?  Never seems to do any actual school librarian work, casual relationships with female students that seem to be a lawsuit waiting to happen. KEEPS A STASH OF WEAPONS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY.

Yea, but Comedy Central kind of benefits from being able to claim it's niche as just "funny stuff".  I agree they do a good job of trying to make sure the bulk of their programming is based on the voice of stand-up comedians though.

Neither am I, but when Fox Sports 1 launched they were promoting the shit out of all their UFC programming and one of my first thoughts was "what does Spike even air anymore?"

There was a nice couple in the building and we had mentioned in passing that we had just gotten the DVD in the mail from Netflix.  She seemed interested so my wife said they should come over later that evening and watch with us.  Apparently this meant they should spread the word through the whole building that it was

That's why Cee-Lo has a driver.

The only thing I remember is half our apartment building inviting themselves over to watch it and then having the balls to be the ones acting awkward and put out by the whole situation.

Do they still have MMA?  Seems like they would have taken a big hit when all the UFC stuff migrated to Fox Sports.

That's only half true though.  I think very few of these shows actually have big audiences.  Reality shows are like cheap lottery tickets for these networks.  A decent documentary series on a TLC or A&E would probably still draw a consistently higher audience than your run-of-the-mill reality show, but they also

We might have the same parents.  Does your father also require a weekly viewing of Midway on AMC?

Yea, but Breaking Bad didn't really hit big until this season and it's so damn hard to talk about any of the good scripted shows these days because everyone starts at different times.  You can have a co-worker who also loves Breaking Bad, but they just started Season 3 or something.

I worry that once Mad Men wraps up AMC is going to be the great example to the rest of cable to not try and build any sort of quality identity.

Yea, but there was a lot more weirdness and experimentation out there.  Everything now seems to be too professional and polished in the same way.

SyFy is confusing to me.  Sometimes it feels like they're still trying to produce good original programming and even their reality shows make some sense for the channel.  But then they also have wrestling and other random programming.  I also think SyFy has been hurt by BBC America realizing that Doctor Who was their

I thought the first Abrams movie was a fun "getting the band together" movie, but I'm with you on Into Darkness.  It just wasn't very fun.
