Castle and Space Legos were the best.  The best Christmas gift I ever got was the big ice planet ship.

Well, we for sure wouldn't get a rooster, so that's one problem solved.

Yea, this is one of the many areas I think she's going to run into trouble, whether she wants me to bring it up or not.  Our property has a shed behind the garage that was there when we bought the place.  Converting that into the coop would be the ideal scenario, but if I'm interpreting the Des Moines city ordinance

Ratings-wise that's probably the right move.

I have been pretty clear that if this happens, outside of helping set up a chicken coop that isn't a complete eye-sore, I will be doing 0% of all chicken associated work.

Pretty allergic to cats.

We're in it for my wife being convince that this will be a fun hobby for her.

I've started using my calorie counter again, and have seen my weight start trending downward for the first time since I started my new job and basically stopped focusing on my fitness for 4 months.

@avclub-ce7da3812ed2a993e2194cd75e94b18b:disqus I think The Voice has somewhat achieved touchstone status.  You're looking for your breakout star amongst the contestants and that's the wrong place to look.  Adam Levine is The Voice's Kelly Clarkson.  Blake Shelton is their Carrie Underwood.  That show has boosted it's

My wife is insisting that we seriously look into doing urban chickens.  After two years, I no longer have energy for this fight.  Please give me any insight/advice you have on this endeavor.

I know Cee-lo and Christina are back, but have they actually confirmed that they are replacing Shakira and Usher?  I'm sure NBC, justifiably, sees Blake and Adam as the show's big breakout stars, but it would be interesting if they kept throwing out different judging combinations.

The Christina Milian stuff is the worst.  If they have to do the dumb interview segment to get their money from Sprint, I wish they'd replace her with someone less grating.

One of the smartest things the show does is bringing in plenty of ringers for those blind auditions.

I'll agree that it was probably necessary for Idol, because they were trying to revive a dead television format.  The Voice premiered after years of people watching Idol, America's Got Talent, and all the other singing/performance competitions and deciding they liked those shows.

Is producing a relevant recording artist really that important to these shows?  I see that trotted all the time and treated as a fact, but I just don't buy it.  I'm sure it's a nice bonus if it happens, but I don't think you can pin the ebbs and flows of Idol or the Voice's popularity on how many hits the contestants

Oh no, Jim broke up with a girl he wasn't really into!  He's a monster!

To me, Scott's Tots was so far over the top, it lost the cringe-factor.

I didn't particularly care for Watchmen, but I thought this was entertaining.  Not perfect, there are definitely flaws, but entertaining.  Definitely not the gloomfest this article made it out to be.

Along with my earlier thought that the movie was probably one fight scene too long, I agree, it would have been nice for Kevin Costner to get one scene with a young Clark that was a little more light-hearted.

No, I'm with you, I really liked it.  Cavill was great, and while there were admittedly some dreary parts, I thought there was actually a lot of that sincere Superman personality shining through.  As a modern take on Superman's first days in the public eye, I thought it worked really well.  My only complaint was that
