My younger self would also have been quite surprised at me moving to the States to marry an American girl. He'd have been even more surprised at the resulting divorce.

Now, now. Swansea is not a hellhole. It is, to those of us from Cardiff, a fucking boil on the devil's own arse and populated by Jack bastards.

"MEDIOCRE!" Perfect for Kesha.

"You make the same mistake people have made for decades. An album is an album is an album, whether on vinyl or CD or cassette."

"The younger generation today who know little other than instant access via streaming to every piece of music ever recorded will never truly understand the lengths we used to go to to get our hands on music we wanted."

Outrage was excellent, as was Helter Skelter. Bugliosi gave a talk about Reclaiming History in Glendale when I worked there, but I couldn't make it which was gutting.

Not only that, but the last time a dog won it was secretly replaced in the final by a "stunt" dog.

You should be getting all the upvotes.

One of my friends had a Dragon 32, for fuck's sake. The rest of us had Spectrums or C64s and would swap games all the time. Why John had to ask for a bloody Dragon 32 for Christmas is beyond me.

Oh, I'm sure they'll make their way to you soon :-)

"Jazz hams" is an OK phrase for flabby upper arms but it can't beat the British expression "bingo wings".

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Southern California and it seems piped music is EVERYWHERE.

Not to mention that a lot of supermarkets have TVs by the checkouts so you're bombarded with poorly-disguised adverts when you're queueing to pay. I've even seen petrol pumps with mini TV screens in them. How empty do corporations think peoples' lives are that they can't go 10 minutes without seeing a screen or

I know that when Walmart bought out British supermarket chain ASDA there were worries that wages and staff would be slashed and ASDA would turn to shit. While I'm not a Walmart fan (I do shop there occasionally) ASDA has got better after they took over - bigger and cleaner stores, more stock, more staff.

As a former colleague once said, "There are those who work. And there are those who attend meetings."

When I walk my dog around at night I pass a smallish strip mall where there's music coming out of speakers built into the structure. And this is at 11pm, hours after the actual stores have closed.

So let me see if I've got this right: Guy parading around an airport carrying a fully working, fully loaded assault rifle = perfectly OK.

I'll be fucked, I've seen both Commando and The Road Warrior umpteen times and it's never clicked that he's in both.

Yet again I'm bowing in honour of O'Neal's writing. Amazing.

I watched it recently. It holds up.
