The correct way to "play" Dragon's Quest was to stand behind whoever was playing and watch them waste their money. The game had so little actual interactive content, it was basically the same thing as playing it - but free!

Yeah, I can't really think of him in any other role now. I kept waiting for him to start cutting body parts off someone.

I always heard it was about Vedder's mother and her issues around his dad's death.

"This is not my beautiful piano… this is not my beautiful bar"

Makes sense… his biggest attribute is his sincerity, and sincerity is like poison to teenagers. It's funny that PJ came up during the grunge movement, which was obsessed with ironic detachment, when they're about as sincere a band as has ever existed.

Their brief period with Lazenby in '74 is a high point as well.

I saw my first show in 1993, and saw around 15 shows before the end in August 1995 (had tickets to the Boston Garden shows for September 1995). There were some real low moments (like Jerry forgetting the words to the entire middle section of Terrapin, even with the teleprompter right in front of him), but some

I was wondering the same thing. Not sure what Phil is saying, but Jerry's response is definitely "Far out, man."

And all this time he's been smoking harmless tobacco!

Larry Carlton's solo on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" is my personal favorite. Perfect combination of rock form/sound and jazz harmony, and it's just an insanely catchy melody played over really tricky chords. I find myself humming the solo, which is pretty unusual for an instrumental break.

Yes. This is correct. Since I've Been Loving You is Jimmy Page's greatest solo, bar none.

"I've just finished mixing a new record that I'm reall proud of. I've played it for 3 people and all of them said it was great, but somehow they didn't say it the right way so I spiraled into a three week depression."

Yeah, but vampires don't really age, so…

This is all the fault of the roadie named Bart.

Are you talking about Crooked Stave? I think they brew pretty much only sours. But they've been around for several years, so hardly new. Their Surette is one of my favorite beers around.

No mention of Old Tom gin? It's a style that seems to be coming back into fashion (in a limited sense), and it's really tasty. Barrel aged so it has some whiskey-ish character and a little sweeter than regular gin. If you find it, try it in a Martinez. One of my top two or three cocktails (along with the

Huh. No artificial sweeteners? Interesting. I avoid anything labeled "diet" because I can taste stevia, nutrasweet, etc. as an unpleasant bitter aftertaste, but I'll have to check out diet tonic water if that's the case.

I felt the same, but eventually realized that what I don't like is the super-piney, dry and bitter London Dry gins. The new American gins, like Hendrick's or Plymouth, are actually very tasty (as described in the article). Might be worth giving them a try with an open mind.

Username checks out.

Pretty sure this isn't the actual rider, this is someone's summary/description of the rider. Riders are written by lawyers and/or booking agents and they are dry and legal sounding. This is someone saying "Oh my god, you won't believe what's in JB's rider…"
