The album is great, and I very much enjoyed seeing them when they toured the west coast with Outer Minds. A band gets something released on Hozac = 80% chance I'll love them.
TEXAS FOREVER
Thanks for the reply. Tyra's wackiness IS a draw, I'll admit, but I have also wondered what ANTM would be like if it were more serious. The British models they got for this season are all simply beautiful.
This season is making me want to watch Britain's Next Top Model. Yeah, I know they picked out the British contestants to be on this season of ANTM for their crazy, but anyone know if it's worth it to watch the original?
I was a little bummed when I heard that Cloud Nothings' sound had changed—I love the self-titled album—but Pitchfork has a couple songs up (http://pitchfork.com/review… and it is GOOD. Keep listening to the Wipers, Mr. Baldi!

Listen, I've tried to get countless women kicked out of the International Sisterhood for sleeping with misogynists, but I have never had the full cooperation of the other union members. Don't blame me.
In contrast, my own studies have shown that misogynists tend to be unattractive, unintelligent, and unfunny.

Yeah, most of the episodes have been bizarrely boring given how entertaining most of them were on their original cycles. I wonder if the "branding" thing they did earlier this season is partly to blame; it seems like some of them are confused about what Tyra and the rest really want from them, based on the brand they…
I'm reading it now and enjoying it. It makes me wish that Kaling and I were, like, total BFFs and went out for cocktails regularly.
Also, I suspect that everyone who has ever worked with Tyra has gotten PTSD from the experience.
This episode was so magnificently absurd and over the top, even for ANTM, that I think it might be my favorite one ever.
"I'd imagine that the impact this might have on Tonya never even crossed their minds."
That makes it extra disgusting.
It is NOT sexist to see someone and think or talk about how attractive they are. Of course, we all do that. The "sexist" part is that every time a woman is posted about on here, many, if not most, of the comments are about her attractiveness. This makes it seem as if the most important quality in a woman is her…
I got this album last month an am SO in love with it. They're on their first US tour right now and I can't wait to see 'em next month.
not riot grrl but…
this is an amazing resource of female punk bands from 1977-1989:

I discovered some amazing bands I'd never heard of before through this collection. The Mo-dettes' "White Mice" is a standout.
