I just can't understand the Avatar hate. Unless you're willfully wanting to hate it, I don't get how someone could walk out of that movie without a smile on their face.

I really dig Patty Griffin
And I really dig this album.
I saw something once about him, where he said he bought all the houses around his house because he was tired of listening to his neighbors complain about the noise.
So, are you trying to get your boss into a hot tub?
C'mon, people! We need to be better at spotting the impostors than this!
"and you changed their birthplace, nationality, manner of speaking, and whole personality, it would be decried as a travesty."
I can't recommend it highly enough. He's done about 6-7 solo albums, he was the lead singer for the Screaming Trees, he's got an album he did with Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs called The Gutter Twins, he sang on all but one Queens of the Stone Age albums, he did some vocals on the Mad Season album back in the 90s…
Not much of a completist
I have been too frequently disappointed by the "rare" releases of many of my favorite artists to continue to invest too much time or energy into getting the live acoustic version with some douche on backing vocals.
OK. That bit about 'batin' in his office just won my heart.
Miller - Triceratops aren't wimpy. Giant three-foot spikes on your head for piercing into the heart/lungs of a T-rex? Pretty fucking badass.
I've got "Sex and Rockets" on my nightstand. It's been there for a couple of months, and sadly "Under the Dome" is going to keep it waiting for a bit longer.
I loved that episode of This American Life. Incredibly powerful stuff. That whole series is incredible. I hope they do a third season.
I don't live in Detroit, but I do know Mike.
That's what I was thinking, except it would be the four amigos instead.
Here's another fun video from the new album:
Mikey B - me too! What are you doing for Gertle the Frog-llama's First Menstruation Day tomorrow?
Dream, not the god of dreams.
Neptune, great god of the sea, plucks young Jack from the icy waters. The exposure to the frigid temperatures wipes his memory, so he lives with Neptune and learns to defend the oceans. His diligence is rewarded when he is granted various powers and abilities which he uses to clean up oil spills and battle whaling…
Whenever I wonder if people are stupid enough to do some stupid thing, I always remind myself that George W. Bush was elected president.
Down on the Upside was less Thayil influenced, and more Shepherd influenced, but I think they had roughly the same amount of Cornell involvement.
