music I am sad that I still haven't seen on any of these lists
Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid, Annuals - Be He Me, Oceansize - Everyone Into Position, Mark Lanegan Band - Bubblegum, Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production of Eggs, The Black Keys - Attack and Release, Heartless Bastards - All This Time, The Wrens - The

Raymond - yes, I think it is. They are one of those bands that gets exponentially better while on drugs. I had one of those eureka moments listening to SftD really late one night.

I listen to whatever I'm currently digging at the time (up to right around Oceansize/Queens of the Stone Age on the International Scale of Musical Heaviness). I just don't turn the volume up very high, and I find that I can have just about anything going in the background, regardless of what I'm actually doing.

Agreed. Kevin cooks with zero pretension. His food is possibly my favorite of any Top Chef chef, ever (he says having never experienced any of it).

I'm on Team Yukon Cornelius. 100%.

I'm sorry, but I really have to disagree with the sentiment that this hasn't been a good decade for music.

Dear Science is in my top five as well. I love Cookie Mountain, but Dear Science seems more interested in making me happy, and that puts it over the top.

I disagree. I think Stankonia is their best by far. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below has some incredible moments, but it's not a cohesive album by any measure.

But the brief periods of that crazy stoccato growly doubled vocal thing (in Rosetta Stoned) are among the most inspired and interesting moments on the album.

I am extremely disheartened that you are teaching our children and are unable to correctly spell "fucking."

Go back to Soviet Russia, you pinko commie bastard.

I'm pretty sure I have all Eleven's albums. The two of them had such great chemistry.

Hangin' Tree would be probably #4 on my list from Songs for the Deaf. And if I'm not mistaken, I think Alain Johannes may have co-written that one.

Sure thing, buddy. Should we test the limits of our musical similarities?

My favorite songs:

very stoked
This is the most excited I've been for a new album in ages. I love all three of these guys - I've even really dug JPJ's solo stuff (Zooma moreso than The Thunderthief). It should also be mentioned that there is actually a fourth member, Alain Johannes of Eleven (he also played on the last few QotSA

Well, I personally eat meat and am totally OK with meat eating, so maybe I'm not the guy to ask. I eat a whole lot less meat than I used to (mainly for health reasons), but I'm not ever going to stop entirely. An existence without bacon and steak is not an existence for me. I've never met an animal I didn't like,

Also, I do care about people's dumb babies. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Oh, I so love to play along with the trolls.

Good point, Carnivorous Danus (regarding nitpicking other people's ideology just to justify their own recklessness). I see that shit all the time.
