I watched Carnivale with my dad and when we got to the mask episode I was excited 'cause it was creepy as all hell and I couldn't wait to to see it again. I loved it just as much the 2nd time around. My dad? He had no reaction to it at all. WHAT KIND OF MONSTER IS HE?

I was 100% expecting a "flashforward" cold open. I did not expect it to be as ominous/effective as that. That beginning did more to whet my appetite than seeing Walt in a shoot out with Jesse or something equally "big." Excellent move by Gilligan.

Reading these reviews, and thinking about what's ahead, makes me realize that this was actually one of their best seasons. They had a ton of classics and tried a lot of new ideas out. Unlike many others, I also enjoy the mythology episodes of this season (One Son and Biogenesis especially).
