"isn't anywhere near the best episode of the season"??
No way…this was easily one of my favorites this season. Perfectly paced, two funny plots and plenty of jokes, sitcom tropes turned inside out, it was HIMYM at its best damn it!

Arsenio: I don't know if you ever saw her episode of Punk'd…she basically drops what she's doing and uses her Russian language skills to try to help a distraught stranger rescue her kitten. It's even more charming since it's not staged (her reaction at least).

really? i've been thinking she's been screwed over since her lovable spot in Forgetting Sarah Marshall…she was in Max Payne and Extract, which were both crappy flops, so i don't think you could call her a 'prominent star' or 'bankable'.

but the real question…
is will the pilot also have a gay cook who's gone by the second episode?

I think I read in an interview that it's just some random picture they found of a coed taken in the 80s. I don't think they have any idea who she is, they just liked the expression on her face. As do I, I'd say it's pretty striking.

I loved The Magicians too and looked for it immediately when I saw this feature…glad Todd didn't disappoint.

oh yeah, that's what happened. my mistake. i saw it a while ago, back when it was actually released in the states, which you would think would preclude any need for a remake.

*spoiler?*

I'm all for remakes when:
1. the original wasn't already widely released in the country it's being remade in, or
2. the original was made in a different generation (i.e. like at least 20-30 years ago).

I think I actually saw this one in a theater. It may have been more hilariously awful if I hadn't paid $9.50 for it.

Hopefully from now on all reality shows starring obnoxious people will feature them being callously beaten. Or worse.

This show
used to be more fun to watch before Adam started visibly gaining weight. He just looked unhealthily fat this season. No one wants to watch consequences, Travel Channel!

My problem with this guy…
…is that he is the worst singer I've ever heard. I don't understand how people can even call his cringeworthy screeching 'singing'. His high notes are grating shrieks at best - I guess he uses showmanship to pull it off, but to me it's just really painful to listen to.
