Was anyone else pulling for Komova at the end? That floor routine was great.

Also, NBC's coverage definitely sucks. However, I feel the way gymnastics has evolved contributes to a less-than-stellar All Around.

I agree. When a network decides to focus only on five gymnasts, you think they could at least provide excellent coverage of those five gymnasts. The Chinese gymnast was only shown a couple of times, and they fucked up the end. How can you NOT show Komova's score? They also failed to give a good explanation of the

Hey, I never said he had a vocabulary. He didn't claim it was…that was Al. Tim said something like "While it may look 'circumspect' to you, Al, you doofus, that is actually the way petitions are now handled."

I think they should be treated—and respected—like all other athletes. I am especially wary of discussing their "feelings"

Holy fuck. Yes, please.

I agree that the announcers could have been more empathetic, but I don't agree with the notion that because these are "little girls" the rules of winning and losing should be different. They're elite, Olympic athletes. Someone loses, someone wins, sometimes people cry. A victory is not to be less celebrated because of

I totally agree with you. The thing is, in order to fix these problems, the coverage needs to be LONGER (let's say…complete?) not SHORTER. A lot of people have been whining about how gymnastics gets too much time, but in order to do it well, it needs MORE.

I watch a LOT of fucking gymnastics, and it was the best vault I've ever seen. Yes, you could sit an nitpick, the slow fucking motion, but the thing is, if anything deserved to be perfect (and I'm a 10.0 defender), that did. I thought the commentators response were in line with the vault, personally. You just don't

First, let me clarify that I am a huge fan of gymnastics, having been in the sport when I was younger. This article gets a lot wrong about the coverage:
