I'd assumed the whispers indicated the Others were nearby, since they seemed to show up when there was whispering. The supernatural explanation was unexpected for me. Maybe that's why it worked for me, blunt dialogue notwithstanding.

That's a hell of a risk though, Noel. He should have actually assumed he'd killed the man with the way he ran over him. On paper I'd have probably assumed just as you did, but the look on Desmond's face seemed to indicate that perhaps he had a "flash" or a feeling that Locke is bad and so ran his ass down.

I'd always assumed a non-supernatural source. It seemed like whenever we heard the whispers, the others showed up. So I figured that's what it was (and I never went to Wikipedia or wherever to read transcripts or whatever). So I was actually very slightly surprised - and basically satisfied - to get that answer.

It isn't clear how aware he is of what exactly he needs to do in the main timeline. In fact, we assume Original Desmond knows about the alternate timeline, but nothing in the show has concretely told us that. It'll be interesting to find out.

I found this episode stronger overall than Kate's, Sawyer's, Ben's, Jin/Sun's…It didn't have huge high points but I thought it was consistently good. A few good answers, a couple of shocking moments, and an emotionally fulfilling story. Of course, as always with Lost, YMMV. (But no way was this the weakest of the

I agree with the thing about Rousseau, but I actually didn't mind the whispers explanation. It is one that was surely on many fan lists for what they'd want answered. So, since it got answered, I was satisfied with the answer. I do think many things will be left ambiguous.

My question would be: Did Desmond hit Locke to give him a near-death experience and thus make him remember the original timeline? Or was he somehow reacting to his being pushed in the well in the other timeline? Based on the look on Desmond's face, as well as the proximity in the story to his being shoved in the

I really liked this episode. A lot. Right up there this season with the Richard and Desmond episodes for me. I don't know that I was expecting it to be as good as it was, but I loved it. That's my first reaction. Also, we got some answers, which I quite liked: the whispers, the well(s)…

I have a TV. I don't have cable. I walk across the parking lot to the gym so I can watch the one or two shows I'd follow. (At the moment, cable is an extravagance I can't afford. Does being monetarily challenged at the moment make one a douche?)

Huh?
I'd never seen this show…I don't have TV at home but I go to the gym and watch Lost every Tuesday, and decided to stick around for V. It was horseshit. Has it always been this bad? How is this still on TV? I would normally try not to bash a show based on one episode, but something tells me (such as the tone
