Purple was a good album. But I think they've been basically reformed for a while. I think hampered by the lead singer's tendency to end up in jail, if I'm not mistaken.

Though I'd add that Barrowman is American - he's UK based but I believe raised in America or lived here long enough to have mostly an American accent.

It comes down to that, yes. Barrowman is extremely popular in the UK; not too long ago he was on every fucking TV show over there, second only maybe to David Tennant recently.

Yeah, I was going to say - that's not all that rough. I saw Mewes at a convention once and he was pretty much that guy. Not a bad guy but that description doesn't seem too far off base.

Barrowman
I'm for Barrowman; I love Doctor Who, and Doogie used to annoy the shit out of me as a kid.

"Soundgarden Inadvertently Reunites" I think was a headline a long time ago.

I do.

I don't know who wouldn't have known that the show would continue; a very very small percentage, if anyone. That was an example of a very bad line; I was very taken up in the scene up to that point - the way it was shot when the Doctor started to die, the music, the Ood saying the thing about the universe singing him

That outfit was not flattering to her at all.

I believe the woman who played Susan is still alive so I imagine they could have just gotten her to do it. That would have taken the mystery out of it for the hardcore fanwankers but most viewers may not notice. I still think it was his mom.

Emphasis on the mediocre

I agree Lone Audience (and I don't mind your long ass comments).

I think it may have been Titanic overkill; people seeing it multiple times in the theater, people seeing shit about it on TV, hearing that theme tune, and the ubiquitous parodies…

I thought the "universe will sing you to your sleep" line was fantastic and worked well for me, but the line which seemed to be towards the audience - "the story never ends" - was way too much. But I agree, it was great to see, after the tearjerk overload, that the new Doctor was having fun with the chaos.

It seems poised to pass Titanic perhaps. And that movie was pretty huge for-fucking-ever. I remember because I got dragged to it three times on dates with three different girls. If I never hear the strains of that fucking theme tune for the rest of my life it will be too soon.

Leela was pretty good, though the way they wrote her out was disappointing to say the least.

I hadn't seen any of McCoy's run until a few weeks ago. Hit and miss, but I enjoyed the circus one, the one where they painted the TARDIS pink, and the "Curse of Fenric" (?) one. They weren't bad in general. Except his first one, with the Rani. That was just horrible. Though I saw them right after watching a slew

There's a country called the UK that show's television shows? Fucknuts.

He also took the Dalek blobs out of their cases and shot them "naked." Tom Baker also gave a guy a bomb and watched him walk off and blow up. It's not a consistent thing among Doctors, which is good, I think.

I guess it is in a strange in-between state. This show it was only "on" in specials form; it's not officially on until it comes back in the Spring. That's what I figure.
