Well, between you and me, the idea that Jesus was omniscient or in any literal sense the unique son of god is superstitious balderdash, so you can pick the second option with confidence. You seem a thoughtful person, and I retract my implied criticism of your intellectual integrity. Go in peace, my son.

Well-put, shizaquawn. Plus you didn't need to resort to swears.

All right, I just can't fuckin' hack it anymore. "The Passion of the Christ" may or may not be a great movie, but the whole point of it is to depict the brutal torture and murder of Jesus so people can, you know, empathize with his suffering. Because Christians believe that Jesus died for their sins. You're not

Died Died Died!
Don't say "passed." Say "died." "Passed" is a weak, despicable euphemism and sounds like a bowel movement or a kidney stone.

@Gigantor Beautifully said, sir.

"Humans tell stories. We listen to stories. We expect stories. They matter to us. Across all cultures, all times, all places."

All I know about you is what you've posted here, so I'm going to assume you're the intelligent, articulate person you appear to be.

I know nothing about Sasha Grey's past. I judge her by the way she presents herself in interviews, one porn video I watched, and from her MySpace page. From those sources she appears to be an attractive young woman of average to above average intelligence, non-mainstream cultural interests, and great self-possession.

Pathetic misogynist nerds
The level of hatred in these comments is truly repugnant. Sasha Grey is 21 and she's a little pretentious? What a shocker! She likes Criterion and Nurse With Wound - I can leave the Nurse With Wound, but it still sounds like she'd be a more interesting date than 99% of her 21-year-old peers.

Nope - the "point" is not simply that we all suffer, and the movie's intention is completely different from Funny Games or Audition. I know you're using Gibson as an insult, and I'm not defending The Passion of the Christ, but there IS a thematic connection in attempting to inspire empathy with a brutalized victim,

It's not about violence, it's about suffering.
That's why this movie is so good. Not all of us will be exposed to brutal violence, but we will all suffer. No sane person would identify with the torturers, but anyone sensitive to the reality of brutal, often arbitrary suffering, can empathize with the martyrs.

Time to lose "I'm looking at YOU (blank blank blank)!" It's had more than a decade, and it's becoming a problem.

Teresa Roncon!! Holy shit! I forgot all about her. Man, she was sweet.

Moxy Fruvous was horrible and I could not watch Jian on TV (it was mostly the haircut.) However he is an excellent radio host and dealt with Billy Bob like a seasoned pro.

And the thread goes to ZMF! Not that there was much competition.

Classic Disney (I'd say up to and including 101 Dalmatians, at least) is great stuff. In Dalmatians you can see the animation start to get a little thinner (although I love the art direction (can you say a cartoon has art direction?) as well as the score of that flick.)

Studies have shown that redheads are more sexually active and adventurous than other heads. The weird thing is that it doesn't matter if they're natural redheads - dyed redheads are just as freaky. So if your partner/husband/wife/24-7 sex slave dyes his or her hair red but isn't giving YOU any more action, heads up!

Well, you don't really need to be a perv or a fetishist to find Neko Case attractive, unless you've got an attractive woman fetish. I mean, look at her. JUST LOOK AT HER!

Hats off to you, Sir!
For writing "invites the question" instead of "begs the question," when "invites the question" and not "begs the question" is what you meant.

It's been mentioned already. A lot.
