Smashed is/was good and deserved a lot more love than it got.  It's also a movie that manages to tell a story in a neat 88 minutes.

I've been on a cooking spree because we've gotten into a nasty habit of going out to dinner 2-3 nights a week and having brunch on Saturday or Sunday.

It really depends on the masa you use.  Bob's Red Mill's masa is okay to use without lard, but standard instant masa needs lard to taste like anything.
