"Less than Hero" is the most underrated episode in the show's run.
There a so many post-classic Simpsons episodes that start out pretty good then just completely lose it in the 3rd act.

I feel like I like this show more than most but it really is hit and miss. I thought the pilot and episode 3 with the reverend were fantastic hours of TV but the other 3 have been mediocre to slightly above average. There's obviously something great there and I'm hoping they're playing the long game with the best yet…

I don't see how the guest stars are pointless. At least they had something to do with the plot. Zombie Simpsons have guests just show up randomly with no point. There was an episode where Ludacris shows up at a dentists office for Christ's sake.
