Batman Jesus is correct. A New Hope is cheesy (Luke and Leia barely react when their village/planet is destroyed), but it's light and pulpy and fun. The prequels don't even BOTHER with being pulpy, which makes the shit dialogue even worse.

Obi Wan EXPLICITLY gets angry at Darth Maul when he killed his master, then fights him to the death. By everything this statement means, he should have become a Sith.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the basics of authorial intent and vision. But it has it's flaws, and I think that we need to be a bit more cautious about delving so deeply in the director/showrunner affection realm. It creates an air of "_____ can do no wrong".

It seems to me that, generally speaking, female characters in cartoons tend to be overall more well set up than live-action. (Emphasis on general.) I think it's because there's less of an emphasis on romantic or sexual exploitation since they're for kids for the most part, so creators have to develop them beyond the…

If you can tolerate more-or-less pony stuff, Tara Strong's Twitter account is a hoot. There was a period of time when she kept asking stuff like "What's Rule 34?" and "What's shipping?" … only to turn around and start retweeting examples.

Yeah. Strong, DeLisle, Hale, Varney - all really attractive. And it's interesting in that there's no one really, um, atrociously unattractive in VO work for the most part. Christine Cavanaugh, Tress MacNeill, (pardon my spelling mistakes, it's really early here), and the entire VO cast for MLP are, at worse, Girls…

@avclub-cfe912f5cb3aa572bd1c9ae2a9b82207:disqus That's weird. I KNOW there was a contest, I remember it distinctly, because I kept asking myself (even at a young age) how the hell they were going to do a talk show with a superhero. They were running superhero action cartoon marathons like they were going out of style.…
