I definitely screamed like girl when the bloodbending happened, didn't see it coming at all, mainly because I thought it was dropped entirely as too dark, from a studio standpoint. This was the real turning point in the show.

I cannot for the LIFE of me think why Dreamworks allowed the marketing to double down on the Rock's Polka-dot/Afro/Circus song. I can't imagine kids even being enthused for that, let alone adults.

I have to admit I prefer the spin-off to the original Animaniacs, if only because of the slightly more structured angle, and how they were able to mine that to such amazing directions.

Rita and Runt, to me, was the creators attempt to make something semi-serious, and in that context, it makes sense. They would do this every so often (including a very not-so-good retelling of the Nativity scene). It's dead weight for kids, and it's fairly cloying for adults, but in that respect I'll commend them,

I was thinking about this alot, and I think what makes Animaniacs/Tiny Toons/Freakazoid referential gags work better than the modern stuff is that the 90s cartoons don't hang their comic hats on the references as HARD as MacFarlane or Seltzerberg. The gags come a mile a minute, and if it bombs, they're right on to the

Tiny Toons is more of a Looney Toons sendup than anything. It's a fine show, and it has its inspired gags - ESPECIALLY in the brilliant Summer Vacation movie - but the premise as a MTV-hosted/students-in-school, anything-goes type of cartoon is fairly limiting.

I wonder if Tress lost her talent or something, sometimes, because she constantly does that one voice on the Simpsons all the time, when she used to be up there with Strong and DeLelise as one of the top, go-to female voices.

That reveal blew my fucking mind, and I learned about it, maybe, 6 months ago. I then revealed that to my friends, which blew their minds as well. We then spent the rest of the night researching Welles and his various fuckups and all the references in The Critic and Pinky and the Brain. It was incredible, and we still

I think a better word might be "representative". Or maybe it's better to say, "well, these stereotypes come from somewhere, and socially, we created them, whether we wanted to or not."

I love how "Fuck yo' couch, nigga" became the new "You're bullshitting me." It's superior to "I'm RIck James, bitch" and it makes a lot more sense outside of it's comic reference.
