Dewey Dell getting banged out on the floor was all I needed to see. Is it really that hard to artfully imply in a film something artfully implied in a novel? Directors only did it for decades.

Replacements: "Here Comes a Regular", "Red, Red Wine", "Beer For Breakfast", "If Only You Were Lonely"
American Music Club: "Outside This Bar"
The Pogues: take your pick

Swervedriver covering "Motor Away" by GBV was the best surprise by far. Two of my favorite bands brought together in an unexpected way.

Green Mind is phenomenal.

Ruby Tuesday was a B side as well. Child of the Moon, another great - if lesser known - Stones b-side.

Good list. Was just about to post Sticky Fingers. I'm glad you mentioned Bee Thousand, because Hardcore UFOs doesn't get enough love.

I love it. Try singing along after a few too many.

This is tough. One each from the first three:

"that crippled Irishman".

Please never mention the Stones and Aerosmith in the same sentence again.

The directors commentary on the DVD is pretty interesting on this one. First off, Shrodeder's accent and vibe are so incongruous to the material, so that's fun. One thing I found very interesting is that the script was filmed exactly as written by Bukowski, which must be somewhat rare. And he points out the scene

Saw this film too many times. So many great quotes. I will throw out these favorites:

I am recent to Medford and agree that 'downtown" is now Davis Square, which is strange since downtown, when I lived in Somerville, was downtown Boston. Now that i am in Medford, I would never say I am from Boston, but would likely use "Boston area" if traveling, whereas when I lived in Somerville, I might say Boston,
