Buffy, which I picked up on a whim and ended up having a favorite series of all time.
Parks and Recreation, which I stayed off of for four years because I didn't want to watch an Office clone.
Drive - Didn't expect the quiet, intense tone that permeated the whole thing.
New Girl, which was way, way better than I thought

Thanks! And yeah, probably. I watched for a while, but I kinda fell off early last year. Maybe I'll catch up over the summer.

Alright, so I don't watch this show and mainly clicked on this to see if anything else had been renewed, but can someone tell me who that guy on the far right is? He looks exactly like me. It's kind of freaking me out.

Alright, that was probably harsh/cheap shot, but this ep just felt really off and it bothered me.

@avclub-7fd1d5cec910c61b1864a51eb7e18cbc:disqus I'll agree with you on the lack of advancement on Troy and Abed, but the difference is that while P&B had it's problems with advancing characters, the characters still acted like themselves, and the show still felt like itself. Seriously, for a show that bounces around

@avclub-b20754d0f1e8ae843e00a8b39a667112:disqus Never watched Bewitched, but people who eat anything but Vanilla or Superman ice cream make no sense to me.

@avclub-eede55069a8d3430b54730901f49c230:disqus Yes! That's it exactly. It felt like cosplay -bad cosplay that people weren't commited to. It was so specific that it lost the tone parodies that most people seem to respond to. Too well-done, really.

It's Jerry. I would absolutely believe that Jerry's wife became a nun just to make his life even sadder.

@avclub-b20754d0f1e8ae843e00a8b39a667112:disqus But why would I do that? Not trying to be dickish, I just don't know what people get out of random watching. I'd rather choose something; otherwise I'll just go read or whatever.

Yeah, how has that not been mentioned? Were those his wife and kids?

@avclub-a02b31e615fdb0ca3dbb5ca5408da418:disqus Man, different strokes and all, I guess. I've never seen an episode of L&O (or, honestly, any cop show) so Community fell completely flat beyond a few good jokes, and I just couldn't get into the live episode at all. The Andy and Amos stuff was funny and Don Glover was

Yeah, but I don't need anything big and important to happen; some of my favorite episodes involve a lost pen, a monkey in the vents, a game of Yahtzee… Little things can happen and cause characters to grow in the same way big things do. But when big things happen without character growth, then it's a show going too

No, for real. Live TV that wasn't sports or soaps was forbidden in my house growing up, so I've never been one of those people that can just flip on the TV and watch whatever's on. I've got Netflix, I've got DVD's, I've got the ability to stream literally anything I want to see online with about three minutes of

Yeah, Parks was great, but Community and 30 Rock were both really weak.

Upon reflection, I just felt like this is something that someone who doesn't watch the show, but has heard about it, would expect ti see; all surface-level parody, none of the character work that makes the show transcend Family Guy levels of referential humor. I thought we were getting something out of the scene in

I liked how Abed couldn't figure out clocks.

Yeah, didn't love this one. I'm one of those mythical beasts who's never seen L&O, so everything just felt flat and dull. Liked a couple of Troy and Abed jokes, and the show used the extended cast better than I think it has all season, but it just didn't click. Maybe if I'd seen L&O…

It really fascinates me that people aren't seeing the show as satire - I saw it that way from the beginning. It's a very real satire, I definitely see myself and my friends in the characters, but I don't understand how anyone could see these people as aspirational. Not trying to be a dick or anything; I just don't

@avclub-1881baeccb7399f3452cd7f37cdb2b29:disqus I do get that, and I understand what she was going for. But since there was literally one POC in the episode prior to that, he really stuck out at the end. I think that if the show had been more diverse, that wouldn't have stuck out so badly and there wouldn't be such a
