Yes..I think it was said here in the review of the Whole Love that it was an example of their dally's with Krautrock which I get, but it's also very classic rawk riff—

Agreed with you folks on Wish—a totally underrated and misunderstood album I think mostly bc the hit was Friday I'm in Love—which makes the rest that much more heartbreaking…

Wow. This director's story is almost as good as hitchs. A real inspiration for aspiring filmmakers. I watched the anvil doc just last week and it's great but I never would've imagined that gervasi would go directly from that to directing Hopkins, Mirren, scarlett.

Kenny was my first ever concert (then Alabama a couple times) when I was a very confused 12 year old around '82—yeah, I was country when country wasn't cool—but the concert was very Vegas, not country.. Don't worry I graduated to AV approved music in my late teens.

Norm first suggests that a good name for a CarrotTop movie would be "Box Office Poison"…great bit…
definitely Spiders (Canny). Hadn't thought of Bull Black that way tho. However it's a great thematic addition to Debaser and Good Idea (Sugar).
All I know is, 20 years later, I remember browsing in a record store and hearing it for the first time. You didn't have to be a music critic or Kreskin to know that it was going to be huge, and rightly so, even in a world where so much great stuff (I'll say eg Drive by Truckers now and Teenage Fanclub then—and…
I love all their stuff and it's one of the few bands me and the missus easily agree on. Started alt-country but quickly moved into pure 70's pop with influences worn on album sleeves:
Album: "Smile", songs "Mr. Wilson" about him and Alex Chilton, and "Big Star". Also a cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "Bad Time".
But…
Luving the Cancon…one more vote for Rheostatics—-start with Whale Music—-anyone here will relate to those songs…"I wish you could have been there when I scored a hat trick on the team that called you a fucking queer".
Back to Rheos…thee Canadian rock band, but no surprise they don't translate south of the border and that's no slight, they barely got heard up here (in comparison to naked ladies, Hip and Sloan, that is)
Agreed. And the running thru the school (old folks home) naked scene.
Gawd yes—XTC's Watchtower—Download it now—Hendrix's not bad either.
Waylon n Willy's "Luchenbach, Texas"…sings of getting back to the real things in life like, Hank Williams' pain songs, Newberry's train songs, and Willy's own, "Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain".
The song "Pontiac" is spooky and depressing…more on the level of Bonnie Billy—an amazing song.
