Agreed. The album is perfect my fav all time. But my fav song is pot kettle black and I sense there is very little love for it. I don't get it. Perfect pop song.

Oh yeah, and if yer into getting quietly drunk to an album—Southeastern by Jason Isbell. Perfect one-two punch for 2013.
It's a departure in that it's a "slow burn" with no obvious peaks (I guess you could argue "Jubilee Street" which peaked big time live).
going to agree here—i find myself forcing myself to listen to it—then switching after a few songs (to, let's say, Nick Cave—much better even tho it's even slower/calmer)—-it's ok, but so far has not grown like the rest did for me (I could be premature—they all took time to grow)
amen, brother—-also the wtf interview is hilarious—I'd say maron should stick to comedians, but it's great comedy when he just goes with the common take on a musician i.e. E is a depressive (his new album is very optimistic imo and he is clearly in a good space having dealt with some tough times (long) in the…
yes, for me its a comeback from the forgettable previous album (forgot the title). Also the new Josh Rouse is very good. Them joshes are very reliable.
Thank you for Isbell. It got a great review here, but is nowhere to be found on these lists. I know alt country is out of vogue again, but cmon—near perfect.
Jason Isbell: Southeastern
Nick Cave: Push the Sky Away
Eels: Wonderful, Glorious
Vampire Weekend
Yep
Hell yes-you win!
My boys connected best to music they could also watch So for them it was super grass and pavement as a start. The videos are inventive fun and with the former you get sing alongs with the latter you sneak in more challenging sounds that has them questioning the Biebers.
Or in14 Up during the interview of the snotty girl while in the background the family dog captures and kills a rabbit. The interview continues…I'm sure the dog was somehow commenting on it's master.
You wanna know who told me?…
Thanks for that—it's been 20 years and I knew that line was coming…Now what I don't remember is whether or not it got bleeped on CBC at the time (must have) because the actual wording sounded extremely familiar…

Right (thanks, fixed it)—don't know why I mix those 2 titles up all the time—they are quite dissimilar albums—the covers are giveaways to their sounds. I love Deeper Into Movies from I Can Hear the Heart…

add to that The Days of Wine and Roses by Dream Syndicate (especially the live version)
