Sometimes, I go to the lake and sing songs to the lake about the lake.

Naw, your point is still essentially valid, just swap the actors' names.

As much as I love "I Am Baby Cakes" and "The Professor Brothers", I was slightly disappointed by the first season of China, IL.  It's not bad by any means, but there was only one episode that I thought was really damn funny: the one where the Dean and the Mayor battle it out for control of the school.

I'm surprised this wasn't the "Where to Start" choice.  I was never into D&D or any of that crap, but it's great.

"…hating sex, hating booze, blacked out again, woke up in a car that was Tokyo-drifting everywhere…"

@avclub-07f2d8dbef3b2aeca9cb258091bc3dba:disqus I think the reason no critic has brought up Lucy Davis' acting in Spaced is because Lucy Davis wasn't in Spaced.

Thank god.  I was being serious, by the way, when I asked if I was just missing the joke somewhere, because I had a feeling I was.  I read that first paragraph, tried to read more, but was too tired and also afraid that you were sincere there to carry on reading it.

Jesus, Todd.

I don't think it was the pacing, really, but simply the storylines themselves.

That's the basic idea behind why hillbillies (and I use that term specifically) around the world aren't exactly your "normal" type of people.  I'm talking Appalachian folk, Scottish Highlanders, the people of other more secluded mountainous regions: certain areas in the Alps, the Balkans, the Caucasus, the secluded

Yeah, I think that's why it's been bugging me.  The beautiful, sun-drenched city parks they seem to shoot in just kind of take away from what the mood should be in most of the scenes.  Eastern Kentucky, WV, Western Carolina etc. are closer to being deciduous jungles.

I've really tried to not let this get to me over the run of the series, but it seems likes they've been showing it more in this season:  those coastal California mountains do NOT pass for Appalachia.

Woo hoo!  Four day weekend!

Landing?

Dang it, @avclub-7f720bbf75ca938c6adcb570530a0ce4:disqus , now I'm even more confused.

I've thought that his show has been pretty entertaining for the most part, and I wouldn't classify myself as a Jeselnik fan (I'd seen one special of his on CC, thought it was wasn't bad).

I know you reiterate this basic statement a lot, and I'm still not sure if you're serious.

Yeah, I have a hard time imagining Tosh or Cook ever having a seemingly sincere show/set-ending tagline like, "Read a book, kids."
