I was wondering when the AV Club would start up "the Daily Buzzkill" again. This is potent enough for several weeks.

The commentary track (or was it the documentary? Probably the doc) had a great note about how a National Conference of Bishops or something like that was in Washington when this was being filmed and watched. Prior to the start of filming, the director (I think) sidled up to one of the senior bishops and politely…
No love for Tie Domi? Eh, just as well.
@Gunmetal boy - You're Casey McCall. He's Dan Rydell. And you won't call the guy in Atlantic City "The Cutman."
Another vote for "Two Cathedrals."
Ooops. Nerd-gasm discussion was underneath the frozen dinner report.
Look, I know I shouldn't be surprised by the response, but the exultant "Yes!" and cheering from the fans for parts of this out-take was really snort-worthy.
Seriously? No one remembers Dan Quayle's efforts to heighten the culture wars?
I'm sure I'm not the only person who stopped cold with Gamespot at that point. I'd been an ardent reader of that site for four or five years and have only been there a few times since for patch links.
@My Year of Fops - The improved backdrops on Bespin in "Empire" were pretty good, actually. I even liked the approach by the Falcon.
@Miller - I agree that it's good advice; I flagged it because it's quite at odds with what Todd found in the review. I don't know who first said it, but I recall reading a Niven or Card bit where he says that no matter how many times you wash trash, it stays trash.
@Dave the Strogg - Thanks for the positive note for that version. It's tempting… and Amazon thinks I should bundle it with "The Ice Pirates." Ooooo….

There was an article about her "phenomenon" in Canada's "The Globe and Mail" back in March: http://www.theglobeandmail….
Bought it on vacation this weekend, and it didn't leave the CD player. "We used to wait" kept me from seriously considering justifiable vehicular homicide, so that's money well spent.
Ooo, good call on "Chariots of Fire." That came on AMC or Encore Avenue a few years ago and I plunked down to watch just to put another notch on the adulthood belt.
Absolutely excellent review, and the film sounds great. I need to hunt down these films, damnit… oh, just one more review to read, what the heck…
Interview on CBC's Q show yesterday
The interview with Arterton was pretty good, and it certainly made me interested in this one. Alas, it's highly unlikely it'll come to my neck of the woods. The interview also went over the wild three years that she's had, too - from theatre school to Bond to big action films to……
I remember reading this for an American Lit course in '97 - and the prof said that the film was in the works so long as "Starship Troopers" didn't ruin things. Apparently it did for a while. (I should really watch "Starship Troopers" - I suppose if I turn on the TV and wait it'll show up eventually.)
"Strange that Disney would market Black Hole so heavily to kids…"
