I cannot believe people are thinking drugs. This guy has chronic kidney failure and is on dialysis. He has had two failed kidney transplants. He has had heart surgery and a seizure. And that's just the stuff I know about.

Unfit, and mattsg - good information. I was just going to point out how common a PFO is. The media is conflating this with a real VSD or ASD, which can eventually cause heart failure. A PFO only causes an increased risk of stroke, which is bad enough. The DVT because of bedrest is the most likely connection, I agree.

or PFO is not that rare. This "hole in the heart" is something that we all have that closes shortly after birth in most of us. If it is open a clot can get through and go to the brain.
