I think Buffy the Vampire Slayer had one of the best series finales of all time in season 5's The Gift.  The "WB Series Finale" was a great episode of television, and a definitive end to Buffy Summers' arc, and then season 6 had some interesting things to say about how to continue past a definitive end. I remember

I was in Philadelphia, so maybe it was a mid-Atlantic regional thing.

I was a young'in in the late 80's, and while I remember so much Ghostbusters, Ninja Turtles, and Pee-Wee's Playhouse, my dad's always mentioned the Gorgeous Ladies of Wresting as required viewing on Saturday mornings. I watched the film after reading the article, and it's one of the better recommendations the AV

That was the most fun I've had with the phrase "Mitosis is…" on television since the first season of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

And as this episode showed us, it could even be just the head of the head of the Shadow Proclamation.

I'd really wanted to learn about the alternate TARDIS on top of Craig's house in The Lodger, and the one The Silence seemed to have at the end of Day of the Moon. That, and a more thorough explanation for last season's TARDIS explosion were the answers I was most hoping for.

As a big fan of The Venture Bros' Dr Mrs The Monarch, I am quite hoping for Professor Mrs The Doctor when we return.

The Doctor in hiding? Oh man. Tony, Michelle and President Palmer are going to get it in the series 7 premiere, aren't they?

Lifes Rich Pageant is my favorite rock l.p. It feels perfectly paced. For a rather subdued song, the build-up to the guitar solo in "The Flowers of Guatamala" gets me hyped every time. When I saw R.E.M. in Philadelphia in 2008, they opened the show with These Days, and I yelled so loud that the person in front of me

It took me a long time to appreciate Reckoning, and I now kinda kick myself for not having rocked out to Little America for so long. What a great album closer. It bums me out a bit that they change "Jefferson, I think we're lost" to "Washington, I think we're lost" in recent years.

Underappreciated musicianship
I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on the bass playing of Mike Mills. I rarely if ever hear him mentioned among any list of great bassists, but I think his playing is outrageous. He never plays anywhere near where my brain thinks a bassline should go, instead creating complex melodies

I remember having trouble with the early bits of season 7, and I really liked having the title card in this episode to slap me in the face a bit. "This is where you are right now, jerk! Watch the episode!" I recently got rid of a lot of old VHS tapes with stuff taped from tv, but I kept the

To agree with what Tom Tom said, Joe Johnston's work on The Rocketeer is a great precursor to a 1940's-era Captain America movie, and Edgar Wright has a distinctive visual style that could energize a b-lister like Ant-Man. Hell, Marvel did just try to give The Wolverine over to Darren Aronofsky, and they nearly

Fun cast: Matthew Vaughn was also to have directed X3 way back when, which makes me wonder who in that cast would have ended up mysterious pregnant a'la January Jones.

Said it once before but it bears repeating
I was a sophomore in high school in 2001, and don't really know what my high school persona would have been had it not been for Is This It and White Blood Cells. Also, I might not have dived into indie rock had I not seen Guided by Voices in The Strokes' "Someday" video". So,

@Larry Indiana: It'll all work out when Nu-perman meets up with Spock Prime.

I especially want to punch Geoff Johns for relaunching exactly 52 books. It makes it that much more annoying.
