If you mean envy of her wealth and opportunity… then yes I can see that. If you mean envy of her talent… c'mon.

OMG TODD is SO EMO
The fact they were completely unoriginal and bland might have had something to do with why they didn't catch on immediately too. The US had already struggled through enough years of Richard Marx to return to that so soon.
It's cool he's not dead and he's making music again. But this album hardly seems like an A to me. Maybe a B. Or more realistically maybe a C+.
I can't stand this album. It just seems completely cynical to me. It's like he was calculating that everybody loved the persona that he had on the Odelay tour and he wanted to give them more of that. But with a bit of Prince and James Brown added to the mix. The result is a mess of corny funk… like someone's drunk…
Yeah. And it's one of Cheap Trick's best soundtrack songs (maybe 2nd to "Reach Out" from Heavy Metal). But NRBQ, Jack Mack and the Heartattack and even the pair of songs by made-for-the-movie group Hot Date are all pretty awesome.
You are wrong! It's a great movie with an awesome soundtrack. That is EXACTLY the way Ft. Lauderdale Spring Break used to be before it was cleaned up.
Great review. And thanks for the Broadway Danny Rose comment. This guy's story seems like it would be interesting and I read a ton of music autobiographies… but I think I'll pass on this one.
Also Darrin's attraction to Sue had already been established in another episode.
@avclub-f9e1b74986ef91100415c120c46fcd3c:disqus - You guys seem uptight. That's your whiteness coming out. Embrace it. Love it. Be proud!
@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus - It's ok to be proud of being who you are, man. Free to be you and me and stuff. Accept your whiteness… the good and the bad… and make white all right. Outtasite.
It's a good thing these guys are so original and authentic.
@Ellsworth Toohey - If music, especially American music, is a combination of any number of cultures and experiences… why then is it necessary to distill out what is the white and what is the African so it can be determined what is the acceptable mixture? It's a bizarre argument to me.
Like what? Unless someone has synesthesia, music has no color. Sure some people of a certain race or color or whatever may be more likely to appreciate a certain kind of music. But that's ok isn't it?
What's wrong with being white?
So are you saying you don't like Charlie Sheen? That's what I think you are saying.
Well… John wasn't the most consistent guy as far as his opinions go. He was also pretty jealous of McCartney's success as a super-pop star. So that might explain his attitude on that Playboy interview and need to disparage Paul. But if John had not been killed… I'll bet you he would have worked with Paul again. …
"Free as a Bird" and "Real Love." :)
It's not a fairy tale or a perfect episode of Behind the Music. It's real life. Real business. Money is everything.
Fewer factual errors or more? Only time will tell.
