It's good R.E.M. had a chance to properly say goodbye to their fans by announcing their break-up ahead of releasing yet another compilation album of their music and a new single.  That was really nice.  Such integrity is to be admired.

Ryan… the reason people give you crap on the internet is because you are an easy mark.  Weren't you ever bullied in school?  Don't you know how this works?

I too was way too young to watch Soap… but I did it secretly anyway.  I had a tv in my room (it was a Christmas present when I was 5!).  It allowed me to 'go to bed' but secretly watch not only Soap… but Dick Cavett, Monty Python, Midnight Special and a host of really great mid-to-late 70s shows that basically turned

It's absolutely about time that godforsaken song was removed from Monday Night Football.  It only started in 91?  That seems wrong to me.  It seems like it's been on the air even earlier than that.  OOF.

Not only is the song good with a really nice hook it also had a couple things going for it in a late 70s sort of way:
1)  It was performed by a singer who had a country-pop voice.  The country was in love with country culture at the time (it was big on tv/movies/music)

Zooey Deschanel plays Liz Lemon… but younger, more attractive and less ambitious.  You know, for the kids.

The show is called Super Why… not Super Readers.  Get to know your kids!

You've seen his nude scene in the Man Who Fell to Earth then.

This seems like a fair review… and much of it seems like it could apply to the Bowie book that Marc Spitz wrote as well.  It's pretty good… but also heavily padded (somewhat annoyingly so) and opinionated.  But he did win a gold medal in the 1972 Olympics so I'll cut him some slack.

Also CGI John Belushi will play Slimer (possibly in CGI bee costume).

Bill Murray will be replaced by CGI Bill Murray making his willing participation in future sequels less of a concern.  They aren't copying the likeness of Bill Murray… they are copying the likeness of Peter Venkman!

Seriously though… how IS Paul Simon's father?

The movie "Under the Rainbow" is pretty bizarre… and strangely a favorite of mine as a kid.  She is completely gorgeous in the film too.  The whole thing seems like an acid trip in a way (of course I didn't think of that as a kid).  I would love to see it again.

So the AV Club likes Parks and Recreation?  I did not know that.

I hope he writes a concept album about this experience that the critics love and the masses embrace!  He is so underrated.

Well he has to be somewhat familiar with the world of article comments.  I mean you can go to any story online and find some of the harshest, weirdest, meanest stuff every day.  A story about interest rates staying the same turns into a scene where half a dozen people are calling each other Hitler and making racist

I like Larry.  I enjoyed Cars (and to some degree Cars 2).  The only thing nutty about him is his insistence on calling himself "a good guy" fifty million times.  But that's only because he's under attack.

I had that ad for the Dodge Avenger.  Except my screen was cut off on the far ends so it looked like it was an ad for the All New DODGE NGER.  I thought that was an odd name for a car.
