The issue with that is continuity with the other Ultimate Universe series, unfortunately.

@Gary X Oh, of course they will. All I said was that I'd dig it if they didn't. I'd also dig it if all the Republican candidates pitched in and bought me a car.

Yeah, he's an older character. He was replaced by Iron Fist after dying of CancerAIDS.

Oh please start doing this gimmick all over the site. I mean it.

It's a shame, because there's a bit of an X-Renaissance going on now (WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN and UNCANNY X-FORCE are two of the books I look forward to most on my pull list) but I think it's too steeped in Events and continuity to capitalize on FIRST CLASS. Though I guess that movie wasn't a huge hit, either.

And I like Miles. I'd be okay with this being the one superhero death that doesn't get undone.

Your comment pleases me. I thought I was out of great superhero cartoons—can't wait to dig into this.

He is in the canon universe. Ultimate Spider-Man The Comic takes place in "the Ultimate Universe," an alternate line with slightly varied takes on major Marvel characters. That universe's Peter Parker recently died.

Honestly, all the Avengers series are terrible right now, even though they're written by people like Bendis and Remender who are doing awesome work in other books at the same time. I'm not sure what the calculus is, but something about the current conception of what the Avengers are doesn't work.

No one told me EMH was that good, but if that's true it's pretty exciting. For all the great work that it's been done in the DC realm of late, I'm more emotionally attached to the Marvel Universe, so the idea of an Avengers show of that caliber…sweet Christ I'm a dork.

Oh, certainly. I just meant that the standard they set doesn't exclude any show with less-than-great episodes.

I sort of think of all of those shows together as one giant, super inconsistent, but often shockingly awesome series about the DC Universe. There are episodes of BATMAN BEYOND and SUPERMAN that are in a weight class with the best BATMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE stuff.

If you're telling me it's better than JUSTICE LEAGUE, then I guess I'm gonna have to pour even more hours of my life into superhero cartoons.

This is why people make fun of us.

Thing is, the Timmverse isn't actually very consistent—it's riddled with duds. We just forget about them because it also gave us things like Heart of Ice, Mask of the Phantasm, Return of the Joker, the Superman Darkseid arcs, the Justice League Cadmus arc, etc. I can see how a Spider-Man show with Dini and other

Did I miss something? Daffy's question seemed pretty innocuous to me.

@avclub-3be42d8a3412057f79af152555e39bd4:disqus et al, the way I always thought of this is: a soul is the ability to restrain your passions and impulses. Lose the soul, and you become a rampaging violent version of your human id, which means very diferent things when it happens to very different people. Look at who

"Surely you have heard of our great victory over the Devil's robot."

Is that true about the word 'Mars'? Because that is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard.

How 'intimate' is this backstage footage?
