Hey there!

I think I'm on Fire, No Surrender, Downbound Train, I'm Goin' Down, Bobby Jean and even Dancing in the Dark are all top-shelf Springsteen songs.

Two different songs, buddy.

I'm interested (and more than a little sad) to see what an E Street show without Clarence will be like. Man, though, I saw them play in 08 and haven't stopped thinking about it, Can't wait to see them again.

Filmmakers should start bringing O'Neal in to punch up their screenplays.

I found myself just staring at that comment for a couple of minutes, feeling sad. Than I remembered I don't know this person and I have alcohol in the fridge and access to better movies. Still, though.

I know we've got the 'like' button now, but I still feel like comments as funny as this one deserve a reply of appreciation. -Tips hat-

They were a big inspiration for Sneap's original band, Sabbat, who were made of ownage.

I really like Enforcer's second album for modern NWOBHM (though they're Swedish).

The comments section on a black metal Gateways would not have nearly the level of friendly consensus this one has. It'd be a cool piece, though.

@avclub-48f3b69dfe25f0f5b4a6b8460a0def4f:disqus , your Maiden album ranking and my Maiden album ranking could not hang out. But we could hang out.

@avclub-c1393a6cb4e64215bbe3b6804a948e4e:disqus , Children of the Damned may not be my favorite song on that album (it's up there), but it holds the most special of all special places in my heart, as the song that made me love metal. This whole freakish obsession of mine starts there.

Quibble: Helloween rules.

Those two are much better in Dickinson's hands. Stuff like Wrathchild, though—that's all Di'Anno.

They're at least as cheesy as Grim Reaper. And they actually have similar melodic sensibilities, now that I think about it.

See also: Metal Church.

Seconded on Legend. One of the more "musical" bands of the era and too often overlooked.

My avatar and I fully support @avclub-f5728573b5d4984431695a41396314be:disqus 's proposal for a King Diamond primer. All must come to know The Falsetto.

The Metal Voice thing is a huge barrier to appreciating the more extreme shit for a lot of people—it certainly was for me—but it's worth it to get past that hurdle. Learning to love the death growl opens you up to a lot of the most sophisticated instrumental work in the genre. And it's not just something you'll have

If you listen closely, they've got some very similar rhythmic things going on, but I think it falls pretty safely in the category of "inspired by."
