It's also important to note that number-of-bedrooms does not automatically equate to more-expensive-house.  An older four-bedroom place that needs work done to it and is located in a so-so neighborhood is going to be a lot less expensive than a two-bedroom that's been recently renovated and is located in a nicer area.

It just went on and on, and those illustrations, yeesh!

George Saunders was able to do in twenty-five pages what Don DeLillo utterly failed to do in over three hundred.

Agreed about the product placement being really clumsy and painful to watch.

Another vote for Locke & Key.  It's easily the best written comic series I've read in the last several years and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful.

Whenever I see anything with a terrible name like Cybergeddon, part of me always hopes that it ends up being brilliant so that people will keep having to use the cringe-inducing title whenever they want to praise it.

I still love Tanya Donelly.  From Muses to Breeders to Belly to her solo stuff she's always had an original, unique style and a great sound.

In my world I like to pretend that nothing exists after Whitechocolatespaceegg.  As far as I'm concerned Ms. Phair has been selling charming, hand-knitted sweaters from a road-side stand since 1998.

I don't know if it completely qualifies, but I thought Tom Perrotta's Bad Haircut: Stories of the Seventies did a good job of interweaving stories from a particular time and place that had lots of crossover elements while still having the stories stand on their own.
