I'd heard some decent things about Koontz and finally tried to read one of his novels, Odd Thomas, based on the positive Amazon reviews.

Yeah, seeing Willow and Wesley together again was pretty cool, made all the more so by the fact that they're married.

There are certainly authors who have managed to make it work. Harlan Ellison comes to mind, though he started out during a time where short story collections were more popular than they are today.

It makes me glad to know that writers are still crafting short story collections, especially considering how difficult it is to make a living that way.
