I think you are confusing Marconi with Morricone.

If you enjoy Carpenter I would recommend The Prince of Darkness. It isn't his best work but it is interesting.

Actually I think the production company was having issues. They did however do a short lived xtacles spin off.

Talk of Frank Darabont adapting The Long Walk got my imagination going. You are however probably right.

King's earlier work was much tighter and bleaker and to me overall more enjoyable. The racism of the main character could always be removed.
