Yeah, it's not like the movies actually set up that particular twist very well.
Even though it wasn't a twist.
And even though it was supposed to be the central storyline of the prequel series.
What I'm saying is, the prequel trilogy had ONE JOB, and it fucked off and did something else for most of the runtime.

Nope. I'm rejecting the term 'sidequel' outright. Enough is enough.

"did you ever get into a franchise/property because your parents forced you to watch old movies?"
Um, yes? Too many to even list here?

A significant aspect of which is keeping the man's woman under control.

Not in this particular thread of comments, at least not until you interjected it.
"the husband isn't "manly enough", the wife is positioned as his property that needs to be kept in line, and the guy she's cheating with is supposed to be some kind of "lesser" person that the husband should feel especially embarrassed

"obsessed with masculinity and men in a way that is…well pretty gay, enjoy your MMA face-humping and oily WWE wrestlers"
You absolutely did, and to say you didn't proves you either a moron or a liar.

Well, you did use latent homoeroticism in pro wrestling as a gay-bashing insult, so yea, cotton-headed ninny muggins confirmed, if that's how you want to put it.

That is not the original meaning of the word, it's a recent secondary meaning in the context of a specific subgenre of fetish porn.

No, because its effectiveness as an insult depends on a view of the woman as something to be controlled.

But where do the horns come in?

I looked it up . . . the '70s were goddamn nuts.

You can't prove he didn't rule Upper Egypt with the Lower Body of an actual scorpion!

I didn't even know snowman was an elected position, but sure I'll vote for Tom Waits.

She was just covering Fisticuff's biggest hit.

It is Frito-Lay, but they're called Funyuns.

I think Jeffrey Wright's contesting that pretty hard.

Analysis . . .

Even if the finale ends up being worst possible scenario for whether or not WW is a good television show, it's been worth watching for his performance.

Not *all* of the hosts, but at least the ones capable of the kind of self-awareness that Bernard (and at least Dolores and Maeve) are capable of.
