Of "epic fantasy" I've read Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, of course, and I'm on ADWD in A Song of Ice and Fire. I mostly enjoy the world building, the vivid and complex settings. Is there anything you can recommend me?

Has anybody read Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time? I'm almost caught up with ASOIAF and I'm in an 'epic fantasy' mood, but I don't know whether I want to be getting invested in it because it's just SO long and I don't understand how you can have that much plot. Is it worth getting into?

Well, in my experience, novels that are only like 200 pages don't get published nowadays, and I'm kind of a minimalist writer. George R. R. Martin has it so easy! *farumph*
